Preventive Care

Two of the most important things you can do to ensure healthy teeth and gums are to practice good oral hygiene and get regular preventive care. At Pearl Dental, our dental professionals encourage you to perform daily care that includes proper brushing and flossing to help stop problems before they develop into painful and expensive conditions.

Filling

Pearl Dental is an amalgam-free dental practice. We use only white composite fillings when treating cavities, which are shown to be safer, less noticeable, and bond to your teeth more effectively than outdated amalgam fillings.

Crown

Root canals, lost fillings, decay below a filling, and chipped or cracked tooth enamel can all weaken teeth to where they are no longer structurally sound and appear unsightly. Your Pearl Dental dentist may recommend crowns to protect or strengthen your weakened teeth or to restore a disfigured tooth to its original shape.

Dental crowns (also known as dental caps) cover the entire damaged or discolored tooth, starting at the gum line. Along with a cosmetic effect, crowns strengthen teeth by binding the sides of the weakened tooth together, much the way a splint holds together a broken bone, and are often used in cases where teeth might break.

Bridges

Unfilled spaces between teeth can put your other teeth and your gums at greater risk for tooth decay and gum disease. If you have missing teeth but practice good oral hygiene, a dental bridge could be an excellent option for you. Bridges are natural in appearance and usually require only two visits to your dentist. With regular care, your fixed bridge may last up to ten years or more.

Denture

Dentures are removable replacements for missing teeth, typically made out of an acrylic resin which can incorporate porcelain or metal for additional structural support. In order to fit dentures properly, it is frequently necessary for teeth to be extracted, and in some cases, surgery may be needed to improve the bony ridges that stabilize dentures.

There are two main types of dentures: complete and partial. Both types are finely crafted and custom-fitted to each patient. With proper maintenance, your dentures will appear natural and provide a perfect smile. In addition to improving your smile, dentures can also help strengthen the muscles that control your expressions which require the support of your teeth, eliminate pronunciation problems caused by missing teeth, and aid with chewing. You may also want to consider dental implants as an option to dentures.

Teeth Whitening

Whiter teeth and a brighter smile are not just beautiful…they can also help you feel better about yourself and make an excellent first impression.

Lifestyle habits and aging can stain and darken teeth, but Zoom! whitening at Pearl Dental will have your smile looking its best – quickly, safely and effectively. In just over an hour, Zoom! safely whitens teeth an average of ten shades.

The Zoom! process is:

  • Fast and convenient
  • Long-lasting
  • Low-sensitivity
  • Proven to be safe and effective
  • Only performed by dental professionals

Invisalign™

Invisalign invisible braces are the latest advancement in orthodontics. Instead of metal braces, the Invisalign system straightens your teeth using a series of clear, virtually invisible custom-molded removable aligners that are changed every two to four weeks to move your teeth into straighter position step by step. The course of treatment typically takes six to twelve months.

Since Invisalign aligners are practically invisible, very few people will even know you’re wearing them. Plus, they’re comfortable to wear and remove easily for eating, brushing and flossing.

Porcelain Veneers

Unlike crowns, porcelain veneers don’t require the dentist to remove much of the tooth itself in most cases.

These are very thin pieces of porcelain that are glued over the front of your teeth with little or no anesthesia needed, effectively covering severely discolored, chipped, pitted or crooked teeth and filling gaps or uneven spaces.
