Fine lines and wrinkles are a concern for many patients who are over the age of 30 and beginning to show the unwanted signs of aging. At Pearl Dental, patients have access to noninvasive options to reduce the depth and appearance of these concerns. Our practice offers two injectables including Botox and Juvederm as services available to Stamford, CT area patients seeking aesthetic dental treatments.
Botox and Juvederm are two different types of injectables that work in different ways.
Juvederm is what is known as a “dermal filler.” It is formulated with hyaluronic acid which attracts water. When it is injected directly into fine lines and wrinkles of the face, it can add immediate volume which reduces the overall appearance. It can smooth the skin and provide better texture in areas where deep wrinkles and folds dominate.
Botox works differently than Juvederm. It is a neuromodulator that is made of botulinum toxin type A. It is completely safe for injections into the muscles of the face where dynamic wrinkles are formed. Botox provides results over the course of several days, and they are maintained for many months before reinjection should be considered. Botox can be used in conjunction with Juvederm during eth same appointment if necessary.
Both Juvederm and Botox last for several months. They are naturally absorbed by the body, and in order to continue to maintain a youthful look and slow the signs of aging, patients will need to have reinjections performed on a regular basis. Most patients come in for their dental cleanings and examinations and have their injections done at the same time. This makes it easy and convenient for everyone!
At Pearl Dental, patients have access to a variety of solutions for their smile, and now can incorporate cosmetic injectables as well!
